• Apr 20, 2024 - "A Day with Northwestern," hosted by the Northwestern Alumni Association, amplified the incredible work of three faculty members as featured panelists, including our very own Judy Moskowitz, PhD, MPH as well as Andrea Graham, PhD; Darius Tandon, PhD. MSS Dept. Chair, Rinad Beidas, PhD, served as the session's moderator. Their collective expertise and dynamic presentations on harnessing the power of social sciences to live a happy, healthy, and thriving life were well-received!

• Apr 6-7, 2023 - Judy, Liz, and our partners at READI Chicago hosted a two-day retreat with area professionals to collaborate, brainstorm, and plan the details of the FOREST project.
• Apr 7, 2023 - Postdoc Jacquelyn is moving to a new position as Senior Research Associate at the Mather Institute, where she will study aging and wellbeing. Congratulations Jacquelyn!
• Mar 3, 2023 - Judy was selected as one of the 2023 Mentor of the Year awardees by the Feinberg School of Medicine Faculty Council!
• Jan 30, 2023 - The incredible Liz has received the 2023 Daniel I. Linzer Award for Faculty Excellence in Diversity and Equity! Liz is recognized for her co-founding and continued leadership of the Inclusion, Diversity, Engagement, and Action (IDEA) committee within the Medical Social Sciences Department. Learn more here.

• Jul 20-23, 2023 - Liz presented at the International Positive Psychology Association (IPPA) World Congress - “FOREST: Community-based implementation of positive emotion regulation skills to enhance resilience among gun violence prevention staff in Chicago.”
• Mar 30-April 2, 2023 - Jacquelyn presented a poster at the Society for Affective Science in Long Beach, CA! Her and Judy’s poster was titled: “Affective Reactivity to Daily Stress Predicts Depression and Psychological Wellbeing in Depressed Adults.”
• Mar 2023 - Judy presented “Development of a Positive Emotion Regulation Intervention to Prevent Burnout in Frontline Gun Violence Prevention Workers” at the Innovations in Health Psychology conference in Clyde, New Zealand.
• Feb 28, 2023 - Madison, Peter, Melanie, & Jacquelyn gave talks at the Integrative Medicine and Health Symposium in Chicago! They were part of the “Results from Positive Emotion Interventions: Emotion, Wellbeing, and Mental Health in Underrepresented and Chronically Stressed Groups” Symposium. Jacquelyn also served as a moderator for the “Better Food for Better Health: A Roadmap to Academic-Community Partnerships for Improving Student Health and Nutrition” panel.
• Nov 2022 - Elizabeth took part in an invited symposium - the 2022 American Congress on Rehabilitation Medicine, in Chicago: “Emotional well-being as a mechanism of integrative health: The role of positive emotions in chronic illness”
• Oct 2022 - Judy spoke as part of the DePaul Law Community Conversation on Gun Violence, Public Health, and Mental Health, in Chicago: “FOREST: Fostering Optimal Regulation of Emotion to prevent Secondary Trauma”
